BOOK CONTENT: The Complete Chronicles of Dai Viet History is a renowned national history, a precious heritage of the Vietnamese people for a thousand years. This historical work holds value in various aspects and is closely associated with the names of famous historians such as Le Van Huu, Phan Phu Tien, Ngo Si Lien, Pham Cong Tru, Le Hy, and others.
The discovery of the oldest printed edition of the Complete Chronicles of Dai Viet History, known as the Internal Affairs Edition of the 18th Chinh Hoa year (1697), is of special significance. Thanks to this, the translated version of Dai Viet sử ký toàn thư based on the Internal Affairs Edition has been introduced to readers since the 1980s and was first reprinted in a complete four-volume set in 1998.
In 2010, on the occasion of the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi, Dong A Company, in collaboration with the Social Sciences Publishing House, introduced a large edition of the Complete Chronicles of Dai Viet History based on the four-volume edition of 1998, with some annotations about place names adjusted according to the new administrative units. Since its inception, the book has been cherished by many readers and won the Gold Book Award in 2011.
Now, after a period of time, to meet the demand of readers who love historical literature, along with Van Hoc Publishing House, we are reprinting the publication. The set includes 2 volumes, enclosed in a box:
· Volume I includes the entire translated part in Vietnamese.
· Volume II includes the entire text in Han (Chinese) characters, copied from the engraving of the 18th Chinh Hoa year (1697).
This time, in addition to continuing to edit annotations about place names, we have cross-referenced and reviewed the entire Index section to ensure completeness and accuracy. We hope that once again, the history of the homeland will spread widely in the hearts of the Vietnamese people.
